Tamarack Jacket #2

I have finally finished my second quilted Tamarack Jacket! The pattern is from Grainline Studio here in Chicago. The first one I made I just wanted to use fabric that was in my stash, mostly so I could see how the size fit on me… and if I would even like it. I did, but I thought I would go down a size and use some fun fabrics.

The exterior for this second Tamarack is a Ruby Star Society Florida fabric with cream egrets on a bright orange background. I paired it with some galaxy fabric I found at Joann. For the binding, I tried to match it exactly to the orange of the exterior. While I think I did pretty good with matching, it is just sliiiiiightly brighter. I actually ended up liking it just a little bit off.

The only thing that I modified was the sleeves… I think I lengthened the sleeves by two inches (probably should have done one). Patch pockets (my fave!), a collar and a little handwoven hanging loop were chosen to complete the jacket!

I may have lost my mind, but I decided to weave a little band for the hanging loop. I don’t think I’ve ever woven something this skinny on my 36” floor loom…

Now…. what to make next?
